Community Supported Agriculture
Our CSA is here as the direct link between our customers and the land where their food is grown. It can be described as a buyers club where our members agree to pay a certain price for an agreed upon share of the upcoming seasons harvest. Our farm utilizes the CSA money as the seed money to grow our crops. This is a win-win situation for everyone involved and helps to keep the money invested into our local economy.
Everything that our CSA members receive comes directly from our fields and we do not purchase from other farms. We grow over 150 different varieties of crops annually. We grow with the seasons and each week our produce list changes. We encourage you to explore our extensive produce list to see what crops we are planting. Our Discounted CSA Pricing can be found under the picture below.
In 2013 JAH’S CREATION Organic Farm is celebrated 5 years of CSA farming. We started our first 25 member CSA, in 2008, with deliveries to a 20 mile radius of our EHT farm. We now serve over 300 CSA members and deliver to almost all of Southeastern New Jersey. We have become a household name and a leader in the CSA industry.
We are currently looking to expand our CSA deliveries into other areas of South Jersey. We would love to see an interest from parts of Glouster, Camden, and Burlington Counties. To make this jump, we will need to see a good amount of interest. Please take a look at our Delivery Pageto see what our plans are for your area. Feel free to contact us to join the waiting list for your area.
The 2013 CSA Season has been one of tremendous growth. We have seen our CSA Membership rise to about 300 Families and have pushed ourselves and our equipment to the limits. Our Greenhouse Tour, the Margate Farmers Market and our Tunnel Dinner Event were all wonderful successes. We owe a lot of that to our Relationship with John and Amy Manzione of Stir it Up Catering. Together we have been busy forging a relationship for over a year now and have big things in store for the future. We see Additional Farmers Markets, Value Added Products, Grab and Go Meals, HOPE (home organic produce experience) and Private Catering as additions to our CSA.
Now that we are entering into the 3rd week of our 2013 Winter CSA Season it is imperative that we procure sales for the 2014 CSA season ASAP. Early CSA Sales help us to be well prepared for the upcoming season, keeping those wonderful crops coming to our communities’ doors week after week.
Right now we must have our Propane Tanks filled for Winter Transplant Production. We must order our Seeds, Soil Mix Supplies, and Fertilizers for Greenhouse Production. Putting our Fields to rest requires Cover Crop Seed, Fertilizers, Hours of Manual Labor, Fuel and so on. Closing these Fields properly protects them from Erosion, adds Organic Matter, provides Suitable Conditions for Micro-Organisms to Flourish and adds Fertility to the Land. Being a good Stuart of the Earth is every Farmers responsibility. We, as Farmers, must leave the Soil in good condition for the Future Generations to sustain themselves.
CSA members are a very big part of this Farming Operation and the Big Picture. The Financial Resources which we receive from our CSA Members assure that we maintain good Quality Land that is kept productive for the Future Produce needs of our Local Community. These Finances also help us to run the day to day activities of our Farm Business. Working with each other by sharing in the responsibilities is what Community Supported Agriculture is all about!
